Homemade Christmas

This year, Brian and I had decided to do a homemade Christmas for each other and most of our family. I think it actually turned out to be one of the best Christmases as far as gift giving goes.
The morning started out with Talitha waking me up at 5 am to eat and then I went to wake up Brian at around 8 am. We then read the Nativity story out of the Bible in Luke 2. After that we opened up the stockings. These were Brian's stocking gifts along with his usual candy. Jason Mraz sings a song called Lucky with one of our favorite singers (Colbie Calliat). We heard it at a friend's wedding reception and have loved it ever since. The Brittney Spears cd was actually a gag gift. Santa gave me the new Taylor Swift and David Cook cd's. They are TOTALLY awesome!

Brian and Talitha had made me some really pretty jewelry (3 neclaces and 2 sets of earrings). It was pretty awesome! Here are two out of the three pieces.

Talitha and I had made him this LOVELY apron that reads "Chef Boy R Daddy" and we had put Talitha's hand and footprint on it as well.

I had made Brian this oh so manly scarf and beanie hat. He obviously had to model it. What a goofball!

Talitha's gifts obviously were not homemade. I think we may have our own little Mozart in training. She absolutely LOVES this toy. Thanks to my sister for giving it to her. As you can tell, she was a little more interested in trying to eat the wrapping paper than the actual toy.

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I know we did. We hope to have an even better new year.

7 Months Old

Yes, it's true. I have been on this earth for 7 months already! Some things I like doing are dancing with Mommy and Daddy, having a contest with Mommy on who can scream the highest and loudest, playing ball with Daddy, splashing in the bathtub, eating new foods, and playing with anything Mommy will let me get my hands on.

We've been busy making Christmas presents for each other. I even got to help Mommy make Daddy's gift. It was a lot of fun. I can't wait to give Daddy my gift! Daddy helped me make very own ornament for the Christmas tree. It even has my name on it. He put my hand in this clay thing which was really weird.
So far.....
Life is good!

Santa Baby

Brian and I took Talitha to see Old St. Nick on Friday. She did really good at first. She wasn't crying or anything so I thought she just might not have a problem with "Jolly Old St. Nick....
That's where I went wrong:

And then it started.
She did only cry a little bit but, in her defense, I thought this one was a little weird and wasn't really all that "jolly."

So she may not particularly like the man in red, but she sure does love the "Santa Baby" song.....or maybe its just the dressed up talking bear. Either way, she was having a good time jammin' out! If the video doesn't come up right away, just be patient. It's a big file, but it will come up.

'Tis the season to be busy!

Last week Brian and I had gone on a double date with some friends to go see the Forgotten Carols. It was Brian's first time seeing it. He actually liked it. Although the end kind of felt like a fireside. Our friend Vanessa jokingly leaned over to me and asked if I was going to be saying the closing prayer and I said "no, Brian already volunteered." It was pretty cool though. This may sound cheesy, but I felt a little more Christmas spirit during the show. It was nice to catch up with our friends. We rarely get to spend time with friends mainly due to Brian's work schedule.

I was also able to spend some time with my good friend Lynette and her three kids. They just adored Talitha. They kept her quite entertained. She had a ball!

Marian just loved to give Tali hugs and kisses. I thought it was really sweet!

This year for Christmas, Brian and I decided to have a homemade Christmas. One of my projects was doing beanies. My friend Catherine came over to teach me how to make them. She made this one for Talitha that I thought was so incredibly cute!
They were surprisingly easy to make. I'm really excited for Christmas this year because I've put more thought into the gifts I'm giving which for me, is more sentimental....and it forces me to be creative. I also get to learn new skills which is exciting!
I LOVE Christmas!

Ball On

We came across a new development that Talitha has made. She can play ball!

I'm just being one of those proud parents

.
Here is a picture of Amy & Tali in their "Christmas" jammies.

We decided to have Tali try some sweet peas to see if maybe she might like them better than the ones we tried to give her before. AHHHH! SUCCESS!!!!
