What a year!

About a week ago we enjoyed stuffed peppers for the first time in our lives. Brian had found the recipe in one of our cookbooks and decided to make them before our peppers (yes, fresh from the garden) went bad. They were DELICIOUS! Tali even enjoyed them quite a bit.

Before the frost hit, we were trying to get everything picked. We really didn't expect as much as we had received. I think our total carrot count was 98. Granted we did have quite a few small ones too. We also ended up getting quite a few onions and garlic. It was quite an excellent gardening year for us! We feel truly blessed with everything we had received!

Last weekend since it was descent weather, we decided to prepare the garden area and till it up for next year.

It's amazing how bare our yard looks now. We already miss going outside and being able to pick all the fresh produce from our garden.

We were sad to see it go, but are looking forward to planning our garden for next year. We can't wait!

"Bucket head"

A few days ago, Talitha's friend Olivia had come over to play. Tali normally hates having anything on her head, which is why I was so surprised to find that she was having so much fun putting a bucket on her head. She was definitely hamming it up!

See what I mean? I could not stop laughing at her.

I love this picture. She reminds me a one of those toy soldiers. Tali's friend Olivia tried to put the other bucket on her head. They were having a blast!

Tali loves it when her friends come over and play!

Bucket Head Buddies! I couldn't get a good enough picture of the two of them facing forward so unfortunately these are the best I could get.

The fun didn't stop there. After they were done playing toy soldiers, they decided it was time to dance! Here is a video of them dancing to the ABC's. It was hilarious!

There's no place like home

For Halloween this year, we decided to do The Wizard of Oz. Talitha is of course Dorothy, Brian is being the Scarecrow and I am being Glinda the good witch.

I was really excited because Tali's awesome Aunt Libby had asked me if she could make her costume. I was more than thrilled! It turned out really cute!

Tali had to get used to the tool skirt. As you can tell it was an adjustment.

I have to say she just might be the cutest Dorothy I've ever seen!

Silly girl

So this is Talitha's new room practically finished. We still need to put up some molding, but for the most part it's done. She loves that she has a lot more space to play in her room. She especially loves sleeping her "big girl" bed mainly due to the fact she can get out of it.

After we had finished her room, we decided it was time to put all the baby stuff in the empty room and start de-junking. While we were putting things away, we found Tali like this.

What a ham!
About a week or so ago, Tali was running around and I guess tripped over her feet or something and gave herself this fat lip. Poor little baby!

I tried taking a picture of Tali in her new outfit, but apparently she wasn't feeling too photogenic that day. I still thought she looked pretty cute though.

Long day!

It's been a long day, but some good news did come from it.

The first piece of good news was I bought our Halloween costumes today and got $20 off coupon from a magazine I subscribe to. Whoo hoo!

I'm going to apologize in advance because I have been talking about my garden a lot lately. My second piece of good news is that I have I FINALLY finished canning my huge pile of tomatoes from our garden. We had so many, I begged my family and friends from our ward to save me from canning more tomatoes. THANK YOU!!! I still ended up with a big pile on on my counter which I have lovingly named "Monson's Tomato Mountain." I started out at a good pace and I would have been done by probably 3pm, but obviously I did have a child to take care of so instead I was done by about 8:30 p.m. I ended up canning 13 pint size jars of stewing tomatoes. It would have been 14 but one of the jars broke in the water bath. Within a week I have canned 22 (technically 23) jars of tomatoes! I am so DONE!

The third piece of good news is when I looked out at my sad little almost dead garden today, I found quite a treat! EIGHT cantaloupe which gave us a grand total of NINE (I had one on my counter already)!!! I have to admit though a few of them are kind of small, but who cares! I have NINE cantaloupes! WHOO HOO!

Now I will be able to enjoy a nice weekend of General Conference instead of canning!
