Fun Times & Christmas

Last week Brian only had to work one half day and has since been off work and will be until next year. There's a good side and a bad side to that. The good thing about him being home is he is very helpful! The down side is, well let me just give you an example. Tali was getting bored so Brian gave her one of my pens to draw with.......this is what I later discovered......
I then had quickly get her into the bath tub to get it all off.

Tali loves having her daddy home to play with. He dressed her up in my coat and I thought she just looked so darn cute!

Tali loved spending time with her little cousin Eli from California. They loved giving each other hugs. There was one picture I have of Eli trying to give her kisses while she's pulling away. It's kind of funny. We're so glad they came home for Christmas!

Christmas Eve, we went to my sister's house for some family time. We played a Christmas bingo game ate TONS of yummy food (thanks Mom, Missy, & Lucian) and we opened up some jammies to wear that night....
Tali LOVED her "bell" (Tinkerbell) jammies.

My mom got us a gift card to Olive Garden for Christmas which we really enjoyed using! She also gave Tali a super cute outfit and a little Elmo fridge magnet that sings which Tali of course loves because it's Elmo. Thanks Mom!

Christmas morning, we went into Tali's room and read the story of Christ's birth from Luke 2 before opening presents. Then we let Tali go into front room to see what Santa had brought......
As soon as she saw the kitchen she ran right up to it and started playing. Nothing, and I mean nothing else mattered. We then had listened to the Christmas devotional while trying to tear Tali away from her kitchen to open the rest of her gifts.
She got so excited when I put her Tinkerbell bedding on her bed.

She couldn't wait to try it out. I think she might like it.

After watching the Christmas parade, we headed over to spend time with the whole Monson family.

Lately, I have been FREEZING!!! So you could imagine how excited I was to get some warm fuzzy socks and a snuggie! I swear my mother-in-law is psychic or something!
Me absolutely LOVING my gifts! Thanks Ma!

Tali got these super cute jammies from her Nanna Dianna and this pink, lavender and white tu-tu was made by her aunt Abbie. Tali had to warm up to the tu-tu, but she ended up loving it!
Apparently great minds think alike because Tali's aunt Libby Made this super cute purple tu-tu and bought her a tiara and cute little fairy wings. Again she had to get used to them. She loves dressing up now.
Tali for some reason started making this her smiley picture face. I thought it was hilarious! She also became the master of the stairs Christmas day. She LOVED playing on them going up and down. Although when she came down, she looked as though she was body surfing down. It was so funny!

Overall, we had a really good Christmas. Thanks to everyone for making it so much fun! We enjoyed every minute of it!

My little sweetheart

Lately Tali has been going through this phase where she blows kisses or kisses everything. It's so cute!

Last week I had to go get my blood drawn and she was wondering what was on my arm. She kept pointing to the wrap and so I asked her if she wanted me to take it off. She nodded her head and said "yeah." As I hurry to rip off the tape, I told her that mommy had an "owie." She leaned over and kissed my arm better. I had never taught her that before. What a sweet girl!

The other day I noticed she had a scratch on her leg and so I asked her what happened. She lifted her arms up and said "I know" (her version of I don't know). She then bent down to kiss it. I couldn't help but laugh because it was on her thigh. It was hilarious watching her trying to kiss it better.

This week as I was looking at ads for Christmas stuff (just to look. I'm already done with my shopping. Whoo hoo!), I was showing Tali one of those Tinkerbell couches that pulls out like a bed. She saw a baby on the page and kept kissing it. She also does that when I read her books that have illustrations of babies too. She LOVES babies! I think she wants a sibling to play with......hmm......we'll see about that.

Oh and another thing she's been doing is tucking her baby doll into a little chair she has and wrapping it up in one of her little blankets. She's going to make such a good mommy someday!

A blog to blog

Okay so I feel like I haven't blogged in a really long time. The thing is, I haven't really felt that there was anything to really blog about. I've also noticed when I blog, it's usually about my daughter. Sorry. I'm a mom okay. Throw me a friggin' bone here. Ha ha ha. Just kidding.

So since I can't really think about anything to blog about, I will just tell about some funny things Tali has been doing lately. We've started time outs (only for like a minute and a half) recently and to my surprise, she actually stays in time out. When I go in her room to talk to her about why she was in time out she will gently rub my cheeks with her hands and say "niiiiiii" (meaning nice). It's so freakin cute. One time when she wouldn't pick up food she had put on the floor I asked her if she wanted mommy to get mad. Her response was with a nod of her head "yeah, yeah." I had to hold back my laughter. I then asked her if she wanted to go to time out. Her response was the same. I had a hard time being mad at her after that, but I did make her pick up her food and throw it in the garbage.

I also had taken some Christmas photos of my little family that I thought I'd share with the few of you who read this blog.

I just love my little princess!
Brian thought it was a good idea to give Tali some blue punch before taking pictures and Tali thought it would be cute/funny to show off her little blue tongue. The funny thing is she kept sticking out her tongue, so when we decided we would all stick out our tongues, she just smiled and made us look like idiots. Sly little girl!

She really loves her daddy. See what I mean about the tongue?

I just adore my little family!

I LOVE these pictures of Tali.

Gotta love that smile!

Catch up

Okay so this is the post that I play catch up. I'm kind of a procrastinator, so this post may be kind of long.

Thanksgiving Thursday- We ended up spending it with Brian's parents this year. I could still kick myself for not taking any photos, but oh well. Can't do anything about it now. It was so nice to only have one Thanksgiving dinner to go to. We usually do a Thanksgiving dinner with my side of the family and Brian's. Our family dinners ended up being at the same time, so we only went to one.

Black Friday- I had decided to go shopping with my mom and my sister early in the morning....crazy, I know. I had decided to stay the night at my sister's house because we needed to plan where to go. I along with my mom had gotten up at 4am! My sister.....not until 4:30. It was crazy! Luckily, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The real and only shocker was when a guy carrying his daughter on his shoulders got hit accidentally by a woman's cart. He started making a scene cussing at her telling her to watch where she was going as if she did it on purpose. He had called her a not so nice word over and over. I came so close to telling him what a great example he was setting for his daughter. Stupid idiot! Why do people act like that? Seriously. It's people like that who should just stay home on black Friday. The crazy thing is, everything I bought was not on sale :(
I am practically done Christmas shopping though. I the only thing I have left to buy are stocking stuffer! Whoo hoo!

Saturday- Brian turned the big 3-0! What an old man. Ha ha ha! 30 never looked so good! I had decided to throw Brian a surprise party. I felt kind of bad because I was freaking out about making pies (he likes pies instead of cake) and making sure the house was clean. I was sure my cover was blown. We were running a little late so I started freaking out about that too. My poor hubby. He's so good to put up with me. We had taken Brian out to eat at The Pie Pizzaria. The BEST pizza place EVER!!! Ahhh.

When we finally got home, I was thinking Brian was going to walk in the house before I could get a picture of him. Luckily, he was just unlocking the door and came back to the car for Tali. He was so surprised! He had NO clue about the party!

Instead of having cake and ice cream, we had pie and ice cream. I made a banana creme, Brian made the lemon meringue, and his mom brought an apple pie. I have to admit the pies were pretty tasty being homemade.
I thought this picture was kind of funny with Brian sitting with all the kids.

The kids started playing with the balloons, but the older boys started to get into it too. It ended up becoming a game on who could get the balloon stuck on top of the streamers. I'm glad my honey had a good birthday despite my craziness.

We took this family photo after everyone had left the party. I am so thankful for my wonderful family! Oh how I love them!
