Kids Say The Darndest Things

Last month Madagascar was on TV and so we recorded it for Tali to watch.  I guess she must have watched it too many times because she started quoting lines from the movie.  One line in particular.  Yesterday at church I took Tali out of the chapel because she was starting to act up, so I went to Mother's room.  Tali was being a little loud so I told her to shhh!  She then turned and looked at me with this kind of sassy face, put her hands on her hips and said "Don't you shhh me!"  She was copying the hippo from the movie.  I had to try so hard not to laugh.  Now everytime I tell her to shhh or be quiet, she always says that.

Tali is now interested in two books: the Fancy Nancy books and what I call the Llama Llama books.  Recently I checked out Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney from the library.  It's about this little llama who is going to bed and wants his mama.  He starts throwing a fit and when the mama llama finally comes, she says "Baby llama, what a tizzy!  Sometimes Mama's very busy.  Please stop all this llama drama and be patient for your mama."  It is Tali's favorite bedtime story.  She will even help me read it.  She will even quote from it.  For instance, when she wants to be alone, she say "I'm very busy....leave me alone!"  The leave me alone part isn't in the book.  She added that.  It may sound kind of bratty but the weird thing is, she doesn't really say it in a bratty tone....most of the time.

6 Months Old!

My little man is now six months old!  He's getting so big!  Our little man is learning so much.  He rolls all over the floor now.  He has even on occasion played peek-a-boo with the shirt he was wearing at the time.  On January 16th he started making kissy noises at me.  I thought it was so flippin adorable!  Anyway, here are his six month photos I took of him.  They are a little late, I know.
Who can resist that little face?

I thought his face in this picture was kind of funny.
He's such a happy little guy!

Baby Sitter

On December 30th, our little man sat up for the first time.  He was still a bit wobbly, but at least he could sit on his own for about five seconds.  I know I say this all the time, but I cannot believe how big he is getting!  Here are some photos.

 Great job little man!

Family Party & Christmas Day

This year past Christmas half of my relatives that live out of state were able to come home.  It was really good seeing them.  It was the first time they had met Jairus.  We had our annual family Christmas party a few days before Christmas with Santa.  I thought for sure that Tali would freak out, but she really loved hanging out with Santa.
She especially loved singing Jingle Bells with him since she had her own bells to ring.  Santa had her be his little helper.  She thought that was the coolest thing ever!
Here is Tali and her cousin.  I thought it was a cute picture of the two of them.
It was so fun to see how excited she got around Santa.  It made Christmas that much more fun!
Hello Hottie!  No, not Santa.  My hubby!  I am one lucky girl!
I was so glad Jairus didn't fuss much sitting with Santa.
After Santa left, I passed out gifts.  It was so fun to see the reaction of my sister and brother-in-law when they opened their gifts.
My sister and brother-in-law LOVED the fact that I made them too.  They were pretty excited.

Christmas morning, Tali woke up and started playing with her gift from Santa.  She finally came in and woke us up to open the elbow and knee pads.  I cannot believe how big my little girl is getting!
Jairus loved his little play center from Santa too...now if I can only get Tali to quit playing with it.
It turned out to be such a fun and relaxing Christmas.

Christmas Crafts

This last Christmas, I had made four scarves and a beanie as gifts for family members using their favorite colors.  I took pictures of only two of them because I forgot to take pictures of the other two.  As I was working on my sister's hat, Tali took the opportunity to be a little silly.  What a photo op!  She is such a funny little girl!
This is the hat and scarf I made for my sister....
and her husband's scarf.
