With the elections right around the corner, politics have been heavily on my mind and so I decided to conduct a little poll of my own. Don't worry. I won't know who is voting for Obama or who is voting for McCain......unless of course you've already told me. You will only be able to vote once. I would like it if EVERYONE who views this blog vote.
I feel that with this election, it is crucial that people go to the polls and vote if you haven't already.
I have my own views and opinions. I just want to clear a few things up. As most of you may know we are voting for Barack Obama. There have been a lot of media that has come out defaming his character and even his patriotism. I had read a blog yesterday that gave reasons why you should not vote for Barack Obama. I believe you can't rely much on "hear-say."
I had been studying the issues and the candidate's stand on them. People are claiming that Barack Obama is for partial or live abortions. That accusation is false! Go to his website and look under "fight the smears." You will find all of the facts there!
First of all, he is NOT against the second ammendment. What he is against is having military weapons on the streets of our neighborhoods. Don't believe me? Look it up on his OWN website.
Second, his link to William Ayers and terrorists. OBAMA WAS 8 YEARS OLD!!! This is just my opinion, but if William Ayers was that big of a "terrorist" threat, don't you think he would be dead by now or in PRISON?!? How is he supposed to be associated with someone of that caliber when he was 8 years old?!?
Third, Obama wanting to talk to our "enemies." What is wrong with a little diplomacy??? We have learned over the last eight years that the lack of diplomacy leads us to unnecessary wars and too many lost innocent lives. It has been only recently that the Bush administration started to get it and has been using diplomacy (in some things). I for one am not willing to bet the safety of my daughter's future on a war-monger.
Fourth, taxes. Take a look at the bailout. Take a look at John McCain's plan for tax cuts for Corporate America. AIG asked for 84 Billion dollars. We bailed them out. One week later, their executives went on a week long trip to a luxurious spa and treated themselves to $440,000 of American taxpayers money. They then asked for another 38 BILLION dollars and what did they do? That's right! They took their executives yet again to gamble our money away in VEGAS!!! And we want to give tax breaks to Corporate America? Why, just so we (the struggling American people) can bail them out again from their frivolous behaviors and luxurious pampering? Does this kind of tax plan sound good to you? Does it sound like someone who is looking out for the American people? The fact is the plan will only help put money into those cushy pockets of big business executives while Americans are struggling to keep their home.
Obama's tax plan will give the majority of people (those earning under $250,000 per year) a tax break. Personally, I think that is pretty generous. Who seriously makes that much besides our good ol' friends at AIG? McCain says that he will NOT raise taxes one penny! Then again, he is the first candidate in history that wants to tax our healthcare benefits from our employer. That means more out of pocket expenses. Just think, he will give you $5,000 to purchase an average $12,000 healthcare policy though. So who pays the remaining $7,000? Hmmm........you do. That sounds good, right?
Don't even get me started on Sarah Palin and her knowledge of foreign affairs. This is someone who could potentially be our next President if heaven forbid something happens to John McCain! That's okay though because with her foreign expertise we'll all be safe knowing that she can see Russia from her house! And what about the "troopergate" scandal? Do we want someone abusing their power........yet again for personal gain? I think not.
People have questioned his character and said that he had admitted to doing marijuana and cocaine, but yet look the other way when McCain has admitted to having a drinking problem, his wife Cindy was struggling with a drug addiction herself oh and he was taking strippers to high class clubs when his first wife was at home sick and crippled. He was cheating on his wife!!! HELLO!!!!
Most of you probably won't even finish reading this blog but for those of you who do, thank you. I don't mean to come across as harsh or abrasive. I'm just very passionate about this election. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

I will be voting for McCain. Personally, I feel he is the more honest and moral candidate. I just looked up the abortion issue on Obama's site and it said he is pro-choice; I'm not sure what you were referring to when you mentioned he wasn't. My mother was a pro-life advocate and I could never vote for someone who opposed what she worked so hard for. I believe McCain's values are more in line with my own.
If it makes you feel better though, I'm guessing Obama will win. I hope he doesn't, but I think he will.
Obama all of the way. No questions asked. Please don't come find my family for those of you who don't agree. :)
I can only guess who's blog you were reading that listed reasons not to vote for Obama....my blog is private so you'll be happy to know that not many people saw it I'm sure. Are you still friends with this person who put anti-Obama stuff on her private blog? I agree with your friend Lera. Maybe he's not pro-abortion, but pro choice means he's okay with it if someone chooses to have one even if it's late term abortion where a baby is left to die. I cannot look into my babies face and then go vote for someone who is okay with it either way. Every life no matter how small or new should be given a chance...McCain, although not a great choice either, seems to be more in line with my values as well.
