Today, Tali and I were sitting on the couch looking through a Halloween magazine. I was trying to find a costume for Jairus. We ended up finding a lot of fun games, toys, candy etc. Tali has recently picked up a new...."skill." All of a sudden I look over at her and she's got one hand under her other armpit and pulling down with her other arm (trying to make tooting noises). I have to ask WHERE DOES SHE LEARN THIS STUFF?!? Neither Brian or I do that. The only place I can think of where she would have learned it from is someone at church. I just can't think of who would be teaching it to her. I have to admit that even though I think that is a disgusting and improper thing for a little girl to do and I definitely don't want her to continue doing this, I couldn't help but laugh quietly to myself.

"Yeshir!"
Today at lunch Tali did the funniest thing. We were eating lunch and after a while I asked Tali if she was all done eating breakfast and without missing a beat, she put her hand up to her forehead and said "yeshir" (meaning Yes Sir!). Brian and I have NO idea where she learned it. It was too funny not to share though. She kept going around the house all day saluting and saying "yeshir" over and over again. What funny and adorable children I have!

Obsessed with Hunger!
I have recently become obsessed with the Hunger Games books. They are AWESOME! We had read the first book of the trilogy for my ward's book group. I didn't read it then because I heard that it was gory and morbid. I kept hearing from others how good of a book it was so I had Brian buy me Hunger Games since it was cheap. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down! Same thing with Catching Fire (the second of the trilogy).
I am currently reading the third installment (Mockingjay). I am so shocked with how much of a twist/spin the author had put into the story. I almost feel like it's another Twilight series where I'm so engrossed in the stories that I don't know what I will do once I finish the series. That's the great thing about book group though. You get to read a lot of different types of books that I never would have otherwise been exposed to.
Two Months
Here are some photos I took of Jairus for his two months.
Our little bubba with his super cute Cars plush toy
Awww!
Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this boy?!?
Our precious little boy!
What the?
Not long after Jairus was born, we started noticing this growth and stretching of his belly button. We'd never seen anything like it. When we went to take him in for his 2 month check up, the doctor had told us what we already kind of figured. He had an umbilical hernia. It's not a big deal, in fact, it's common for children under a certain weight to have them. The doctor told us it should clear up on it's own by about the time he is 1 or so. Here is a picture of what it looks like.
We did receive some good news though from his 2 month check up. Jairus has now doubled his birth weight and is now in the 18th percentile for his weight so at least he is growing. I can't believe how big my little man is getting already.
Labor Day
Labor Day weekend Brian thought that since it would be too cold for us to go camping (even in our backyard) that we would improvise and set up camp.....in our living room.
I was surprised by a really good friend who was in town. She had brought over a cute plush Lightning McQueen car as well as some Cars board books. What a sweetheart!
During Labor Day weekend, we decided to go to the Oktoberfest up at one of the local ski resorts. It's basically a German festival....without a whole lot of German culture like I was hoping (well other than all the beer that is).
Here are some photos we took.
Tali was dying to go on the Alpine Slide. She kept saying "slide, Mommy! Slide!"
As we were going down she would scream in delight and say "weeeee!" or "yahoo!"
Brian and I decided to go zip riding for the first time in both our lives.
You may not be able to see, but Brian and I are the last ones in line. It took FOREVER!
We had decided to go with Brian's parents and his sister-in-law who were awesome enough to take some photos while we were waiting to get on the zip rider.
Yep. Our Pappy can sleep ANYWHERE!
Here we go! Believe it or not, it was REALLY cold waiting to go on the zip rider.
We had such a blast!
SMILE!
On the first of September (Yes I know. I am quite behind so I will be playing catch up).I was FINALLY able to get some photos of my little man smiling! He smiles all the time now and it makes my day!
I just adore this little man!
I just love this little boy!
He makes me laugh with that cheesy grin of his!
