Last month Madagascar was on TV and so we recorded it for Tali to watch. I guess she must have watched it too many times because she started quoting lines from the movie. One line in particular. Yesterday at church I took Tali out of the chapel because she was starting to act up, so I went to Mother's room. Tali was being a little loud so I told her to shhh! She then turned and looked at me with this kind of sassy face, put her hands on her hips and said "Don't you shhh me!" She was copying the hippo from the movie. I had to try so hard not to laugh. Now everytime I tell her to shhh or be quiet, she always says that.
Tali is now interested in two books: the Fancy Nancy books and what I call the Llama Llama books. Recently I checked out Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney from the library. It's about this little llama who is going to bed and wants his mama. He starts throwing a fit and when the mama llama finally comes, she says "Baby llama, what a tizzy! Sometimes Mama's very busy. Please stop all this llama drama and be patient for your mama." It is Tali's favorite bedtime story. She will even help me read it. She will even quote from it. For instance, when she wants to be alone, she say "I'm very busy....leave me alone!" The leave me alone part isn't in the book. She added that. It may sound kind of bratty but the weird thing is, she doesn't really say it in a bratty tone....most of the time.
