Mother Moments

You know those days where you feel like you may be failing as a mother or just having a rough day because kids won't mind or are fighting with each other, the house is messy, laundry is piling up whether clean or dirty, you haven't showered because you're so busy being a chauffeur or helping kids with homework and you're having a difficult time getting dinner made?  Yeah, I've had days like this too...more often than I'd care to admit. I along with many other moms have had those days where we've just felt spent and exhausted.

Last night as I was feeding little Zacharias, I was listening to the Mormon channel.  There was a man interviewing Linda S Reeves- 2nd Councilor in the General Relief Society Presidency and Lorraine A Roberry (I don't know if I spelled her name correctly) from the General Primary Board.  They were speaking on the topic of "Keeping Your Sanity In a Home of Little Ones."  I decided to listen to it.  It was very informative!  The interviewer had mentioned a talk by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles who has been one of my favorite speakers for quite some time.  The talk the interviewer kept referring to was given in a General Conference in April of 1997.  The talk was titled "Because She is A Mother."  I decided to go read that talk also.  As I read it, I felt so comforted by his words.  I felt as though Heavenly Father himself was speaking those words directly to me!  I felt the love of my Heavenly Father.  Even though I may fall short quite a but as a mother, those words spoke peace to my mind and told me that it is okay.  That is what the atonement is for.  I just need to keep trying to be better each day and do all that I can to be a good mom and the rest will be taken care of.  If anyone has a moment I highly suggest looking up this talk on lds.org.

Well I better go get my kiddos fed and off to school.  A mother's work is never done and that's okay.  :)
