We then found our self driving by the Jordan River temple. As we drove up to the gate, my eyes started welling up with tears.
It may have been nostalgia, but as we drove up to it and beholding its beauty was magnificent. We drove to the east side of the temple where I was able to snag this photo it.
I remember coming to this temple in my youth and taking my daughter to it the first time she went to do her first baptisms. It is so exquisite! I have fond memories of my grandfather baptizing me in this temple as a youth. This temple holds a very special place in my heart. Every time I see it, I feel like I am coming home.
This place holds many memories for Brian as well. When I met him, he worked as a temple worker in this temple with his best friend who passed away last year.
Its amazing how even during this time when we are not able to go to the temple, we are still able to feel such peace and comfort in a world of chaos just by driving by this magnificent building. I felt so much strength and sustaining power just driving up to the gates.
I'm so grateful for these majestic buildings and the work that is done in them and long to one day return to continue the work of the Lord. I'm grateful for a living prophet who is God's mouthpiece on the earth today. I'm so grateful for the peace the gospel brings. We are truly blessed of the Lord!
