Last night I was looking EVERYWHERE for my favorite brownie recipe. I never knew what the recipe was or anything, I just knew what the brownies were supposed to look like with frosting. My friend Lera had made them for a Young Women's activity when we were serving in the YW together. They were almost kind of cake-like. They were SOOOOO scrumptious!
I thought I had found the recipe by the looks of the picture so, I decided to make them. The batter tasted a bit rich but I thought maybe it will dull a little bit after I bake them......NO! I went through all this hassle to make my favorite brownies when I discover THEY'RE THE WRONG ONES! I'm not one that likes a lot of rich chocolate flavor. These brownies were RICH! There were chocolate chip bits in them that hadn't melted which I don't really care for. It gives me an upset stomach. Anyway, I pull the brownies out of the oven, let them cool and then frosted them. To my surprise, when I went to taste them, I was totally taken off guard by how rich these brownies were! Brian had no complaints what so ever! He's acclamated himself by eating so much candy and chocolate.
So continues my quest for the perfect brownie and frosting recipe. All is not lost I suppose. After all, I did learn how to make a chocolate glaze frosting from scratch!

mmmmmmmm.... rich chocolate brownies. Maybe you should post the recipe!
You silly girl! You could have just asked me for the recipe. Which brownies were they? The ones with the vanilla icing and chocolate rice crispy top or the plain chocolate with the chocolate icing? If it's the plain chocolate then it's on my blog. I add chocolate chips to them (which I wrote in that version of the recipe on the blog) but the night I made them for the YW, I forgot the chips. It's the same recipe as I made that night (Martha's facial night?) if you don't add the chocolate chips, and I think that's what you are looking for because it is much less sweet that way.
my brownie recipe is located on the back of a Duncan Hines box. I don't know how they got it, but it's mine. (just kidding.)
