Bad 18 month day

Today Talitha turned 18 months. I was expecting to have a pretty good day............... boy was I in for it!

This morning started out like pretty much any other morning. I decided I wanted to do something special, so I decided I was going to take Tali in to get her pictures done. On our way out the door, my mom calls from her work asking if Brian could try and fix their work printers because their IT wasn't getting back to them. We did as much as we could but had to leave for Tali's 18 month check up.

We get to the doctor's office about twenty minutes early. We didn't get in to see the doctor until half an hour after our scheduled appointment time. By this time I'm sweating it because Brian needed to eat lunch and get ready for work. We finally see the doctor and are there for about another half an hour. Tali ended up needing a shot. We usually go get icecream after this huge ordeal, but didn't have time to stop. :( Very sad!

Then later, I'm finally able to get Tali in to get her pictures done around 6:50. The woman was really nice until it came to buying packages/pictures. Around the middle of the session, I noticed Tali had a dirty bum. Any mother knows that kids don't last long when their kids are messy. Tali started screaming and would not cooperate. I couldn't really blame her after the day she's had. Poor baby!

As we discussed packages that were ridiculously overpriced (at Walmart of all places) I asked how much the cheapest package was. The woman's reply was around $190 or something like that. I then asked how much just a CD was (thinking it would be quite cheap with my 9-12 pictures). She told me $200! The whole time in my head I was thinking "WHO ACTUALLY SPENDS THAT MUCH ON PICTURES????" I had tried to get out of there several times by saying we couldn't afford that much. She kept lowering the price and by this point Tali was inconsolable. She wouldn't sit still or stay occupied with other things for more than a few seconds. I was getting so frazzled and just wanted to get out of there! She then told me I could get a couple sheets for $8.00. I finally just said "okay" so I could get out of there ASAP. I didn't even like the picture all that much that they said I could have for that price. She was so freakin' pushy! She had to have been working on commission! So needless to say I will be calling them tomorrow to cancel the order and will never go back there again! I will be taking my business elsewhere this week to get them re-done. I really hope it will be a better experience! Wish me luck!

What a rough day to turn 18 months.

Oh! I feel for you! Good luck with 18 months, 2 years, 3 years, 3 1/2 years, 4 and 5 years, and wait until the teens hit! :) No- they aren't that bad. Really. :)

You're brave to take your daughter to get pictures after shots. Parker usually isn't in a good mood for the rest of the day after he gets a shot. Sorry it turned out to be a bad day. I'm sure JC Penny or Target will do better. Don't forget online coupons.
