Community garden & duck

We have officially started getting our square foot garden boxes ready at the church for the community garden.  On Saturday (in between two storms), Brian had gone over to the church to start filling it with dirt so we can start some of our plants that have already begun sprouting inside.
See all those boxes?  There are several more rows for other people doing the same thing.  I think it's awesome that so many people are getting involved!  It's also a great way to meet new people.
Tali LOVED hanging out with Daddy!
We still have some more work to do, but are really excited to get started!
These two boxes are all ours! :)
Tali thought sitting in the wheel barrow while Daddy pushed it was the coolest thing EVER!

Ever since our honeymoon, Brian has been trying to find rare or different meat to cook.  We usually just eat beef, pork, or chicken but we had gone to WinCo one day and I came across a duck.  Brian had mentioned a while ago that he would like to try and make duck so I decided to pick it up.  Brian decided to cook it up yesterday.  We didn't have time to eat it, so we just put it in the fridge.  Here is how it turned out.

I haven't actually tried it yet, but am thinking on having it for dinner tonight.  Hopefully it's as good if not better when we had duck on our honeymoon.  It looks pretty tasty to me!

A community garden sounds interesting. A good way to bring people together, and to help people who aren't good at gardening get better, or at least get fresh produce.

I've only had duck once. I only remember it having a really strong flavor of iron. Yuck! I'm not a vegetarian, but I'm not a big meat eater either. It does look very delcious though! I can imagine it with some yummy potatoes and fresh vegetables.

That does look tasty. I've never tried duck. You'll have to tell me how it was.
