Star Wars!

Today is our Blue & Gold Banquet Cub Scouts.  I (Amy) am currently the Webelos Assistant Leader.  Our theme we decided on was Star Wars.  We're going to have Brian and our neighbor Andrew Nelson  do a "Jedi Training" for the incoming scouts.  Brian will be like Obi Wan Kenobi and Andrew will be Darth Vader.  For dinner we're having things like "Vader taters" which is basically a potato salad bar.  Hopefully I can get little Jedi certificates printed out for the incoming scouts as a sort of welcome to scouts thing.  I'm really excited.  I'm making "Hans Rolo" cookies.  We're also going to have some fun carnival games.  Our den will be doing a Darth Vader target shooting game.  We're going to stack some cups with storm trooper faces on them with one in the middle being Darth Vader.  We are also having a photo booth.  It should be a lot of fun!
Last night Andrew told us about a free Star Wars app (on the iPhone, but works on the iPad) that we could do "selfies" or photos of ourselves with a Star Wars back drop.  I took pictures of the kids that I thought turned our pretty awesome.  Our kids are so awesome!
Tali as Princess Leia.
Jairus.  So serious.
Zach.  He had to have Darth Vader in his picture.
And baby Silas.  It amazes me how similar Zach and Silas look alike in these photos.

Here are some of the posters from the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie.  My friend Amber Evans was kind enough to lend them to us.
Here are some of the decorations I printed off that we will be using for our Blue & Gold.  This is only half of one banner, but it looks the same on the other side of the "Star Wars" flag.
This banner I colored with blue and yellow crayons.  It took forever, but I'm happy with it.
I cannot wait for tonight.  I hope everything turns out.  Now Brian and I just need to see the new movie.  No, we have not seen it yet.  Yes, I know it came out in December and yes, I know it comes out on video in April.  I think we are about the only people on this planet who have not yet seen it but we'll see it eventually.  :)
