Bargains & Nerf Night

Lately I have noticed how badly my family (with the exception of Jairus who has plenty of clothes from his cousins) needed new jeans and pants.  Brian I think only had about a pair or two that did not have holes in them.  My jeans were about in the same shape as Brian's.  Tali was just growing out of her 3T clothes.  The pants were becoming floods on her.  I decided I would go over to the local D.I. (Deseret Industries- a secondhand store) and just see what they had in good condition.  I actually found a little more than I thought I would.  I was so excited!  I ended up finding a very cute (and slimming if I might add) levi skirt, two pairs of jeans for myself, two pairs of jeans for Tali, two t-shirts for Jairus, and a pair of khaki pants for Brian (who is so hard to shop for because he is slimmer than the average male).  I ended up only spending a total of $29.00 for all of those clothes!  That was a lot better than I thought it would be!  I was truly blessed to find all that I did!

Today, when Brian got home from work, he told me about his night at work which ended up being very frustrating.  He was hoarse from screaming in his car on the way home.  Needless to say it was a  very stressful night at work.  He's been so frustrated with school, work and basically everything else.  He  told me that we needed to find an activity or hobby to help alleviate some of the stress.  After Brian went to bed, I took the kids out with an idea in mind.  Our previous bishop's wife as well as my brother and sister-in-law gave me some inspiration.  A long time ago our previous bishop's wife had posted on facebook something about having a nerf war at her house.  I thought it sounded like a lot of fun, but didn't really put too much thought into it after a while.  Then, at Christmas time, my brother and sister-in-law and their family had a bunch of nerf guns to play with.  We all had so much fun playing with them!  It was especially with my hubby and pappy.  So, with that in mind, I thought I would at least go and see how expensive they were at Walmart.

I got to Walmart and noticed the nerf guns were $10 a piece so I ended up buying two for Brian and me then as I was about ready to give up finding some for the kids to use, I found a pack that had two guns in it that were small enough for my kids to handle.  The one for the kids were only $5.00 for a pack of two guns.  I thought that was a pretty good deal, so we bought them....and some ice cream!  :)

When we got home, I was starting to open up the guns for the kids and put the little nerf suction things in them and Tali said to me "I'm going to show Daddy our guns and it is so SO on!"  Hahaha!  She is so funny!  I couldn't believe she had said that.  It was just so hilarious the way she said it!   Today was such an awesome day!  I loved it!
