Say What?

Tonight for Family Home Evening, we learned about planting a garden.  A few weeks ago in nursery Jairus got a pea plant which is growing really well.  We decided we needed to have a family night on it so Tali could have one also.  After the lesson was done, I asked the kids if they wanted a treat from something that had grown from a seed such as a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie (okay, I know it's a stretch, but I was going for the pumpkin), an apple or a banana.  Thankfully they picked the banana as a healthier choice.  Tali looked up at me and said in a sweet voice "Mom, you're awesome!"  That really made my night.  I love that little girl!

As we were cleaning up bedrooms for bedtime, I found a little plastic tube thing that attaches two strands of a necklace together that I had warned her NEVER to take off.  I asked her where the plastic thing was and she said "I don't know."  I then told her "Tali, if you take this off again, Jairus could find it, put it in his mouth, choke on it and die."  Without missing a beat she said "Then he'll be like a zombie?"  It took every ounce of energy I had not to laugh at that, but I was able to compose myself enough to tell her no.  Oh, just in case you're wondering about the whole "zombie" thing, we do not let her watch any shows with zombies in them.  Brian actually talks about them and occasionally plays a game where he pretends to eat their brains.  Don't ask me why, but they love it.
