Every year my stake throws a stake adult Valentine's dance. This year I found out it was cancelled after making plans that were hard to make in the first place.
I know everyone has their standards on this, but my personal standard on foods with alcohol is you don't eat it. I had recently found out that most of the restaurants around all cook with alcohol in a variety of their dishes. This was extremely difficult for me. I have been taught to stay away from strong drinks and alcohol. To me, that means also cooking or eating food with it. I had heard from several people that it cooks the alcohol out. While doing more research, I found that it really doesn't cook the alcohol out unless it has been cooking for a minum of 3 hours. A friend of mine gave me this link that provides the information about it.
Anyway, so I was really discouraged and realized that I now know why Brian and I don't go out to eat very often. I don't want to have to worry about what is cooked into my food or my children's for that matter.

Amen. :) I don't cook with alcohol for two reasons: I don't want to take the chance that it isn't all cooked out AND I don't want to walk into a liquor store and feel the need to explain why I'm there. Alcohol is completely unnecessary. There are many other flavorful options out there! :)
I totally agree with you there Netty.
You must go to really fancy restaurants when you go out, because it's something I've never had to worry about. Even with Olive Garden or Johnny Carinos. When we eat out we usually go to places like Red Robin, Ice Berg, and Chilis. Parker really likes a good burger and fries. But I think you're right, if it's not all cooked out, you shouldn't eat it.
