December it seemed was the month for reading. I finished reading about three books. I had read " A Stranger for Christmas" by Carol Lynn Pearson "The Host" by Stephanie Meyers, and Tiger's Voyage by Colleen Houck. I absolutely LOVED those books. I think I read all of them within a matter of 3-4 weeks. For me, that's pretty darn fast!
I read "A Stranger for Christmas" in a book group with some women from my ward. It was pretty good. It really made me reflect on some things. I hate to admit this, but most days I don't really think about the elderly who may feel alone or like no one cares about them or had forgotten about them. This book made me think that I need to do more and make more of an effort to visit the elderly either in my ward or at nursing homes. I guess it's hard for me to do because I hate getting close to people and then losing them and so I most of the time put it out of my mind. This book kind of helped me to think more about it and try to put forth more of an effort to make that a priority.
"The Host" I thought was a very good story. The end left me a little confused, but it was still pretty good. I have to say I did like it better than Twilight. I think it was better written. Of course it's a totally different concept than what I'm used to....well, with the exception of the whole love triangle type thing...in a sense.
"Tiger's Voyage" which is the third book out of a series of five in the "Tiger's Curse" series is pretty good, but VERY frustrating! I just hope it doesn't end the way I think it is going to. I will be pretty ticked if it does! I fell in love with this series. Yes this is another one with a love triangle. The ending left me on such a cliffhanger that I am so irritated that I have to wait until September of this year until the fourth book comes out.
