A New Year

For New Year's Eve, some good friends of ours that we've known from our single days came over with their kids.  We had a lot of fun.  We had chili, pizza, veggies, fruit, pigs in a blanket, a peach white grape juice and some other things.  We watched The Labyrinth while we played Catch Phrase and basically just made fun of the movie eventhough we like it.  It was just so much fun visit with them.  After all the fun, we decided to go out in our backyard and light off some fire works around the fire pit.  It was just so darn COLD!

New Year's brought some changes.  Tali was now graduating from nursery to a Sunbeam in Primary.  Jairus was officially in nursery.  It was quite an adjustment for both of them.  I ended up teaching Tali's primary class that week and she was so upset and didn't want to go to Primary, but she didn't want me to leave her either.  It was a very difficult week.  At the time she didn't have a permanent teacher and also she was used to being with all her friends, but they ended up splitting the nursery.  It's taken them both about three to four weeks to get used to being without each other (because we are nursery teachers Jairus went to nursery with us before he was 18 months).  Thankfully though, they are now more comfortable in their classes.

Thank you Nicole, Adrian and Angie  for being so good with our kids!  You ladies are just wonderful!
