Dancing cheerleader

Saturday, we saw this cute U of U cheerleader outfit that we bought for Tali last year hanging in her closet. We were wondering if it would fit yet, so we decided to have her try it on. Once we put it on her, she didn't want to take it off. I put on some music and this video is of Tali busting a move cheerleader style. I thought it was so funny, I had to share it!

I thought she looked so cute in this outfit, I had to take a picture.

Saturday was such a warm day, Tali couldn't resist playing in the sprinklers.

I LOVE this picture. It just cracks me up! She was having so much fun running through and dancing in the sprinklers. I had tons of fun running through them with her.

Nothin' much

I haven't blogged much lately because there hasn't been a whole lot of stuff going on.

Brian had surgery on his wrist about two weeks ago. He had to have a cyst removed that had been bothering him for over ten years. When it really started to bother him, we decided to get it removed.
Here is a picture of his hands after surgery.

Brian got his stitches out on Sunday by his niece Kaylyn. All she had to do was pull on one of the ends and they came out. It was really weird and unlike any suture I had ever seen before. Our guess is they used surgical glue to hold the skin together. There weren't any knots or anything. It was really weird.

I absolutely LOVE her smile!

On Saturday, we had bought Tali a little spongebob watering pale. While Brian was teaching her how it worked, I guess some water got on the floor. She tripped and hit her head on the corner of the wall. Poor little girl. That's why she's got a band aid on her head.

I swear my daughter is accident prone. This week, I don't know what it is, but within the last couple of days she has managed to cut her forhead, gave herself a fat lip (Not really sure how she got it. I found her under the kitchen table on her face. You can't really see it in this picture because it was on the inside of her lip) ran into a wall and has fallen several times. Although when she ran into the wall, she did have a blanket over her head. For some reason she likes to run around with a blanket on her head (she must think she disappears).

I thought this picture of her an her grandpappy was really cute. She sure has grown quite attached to him.

Today, we went out to our garden and found that we had 2 ripe pink banana jumbo squash. We still have quite a few still ripening in the backyard. I feel so blessed by all the produce we have received this year from our garden! I also found that we had at least 6 or 7 canteloupe mellons! I can't wait until they are ripe! Our corn didn't do so well, but we are planting some more green beans and sweet peas before the frost. YAY!

What a week!

I'm sure most everyone knows by now that Brian recently went in under the knife to get a cyst removed from his wrist. It was an "occult dorsal wrist ganglion." His surgery only took about 15 minutes. He is still trying to adjust with only using his left hand to do things since he is right handed. Amazingly enough he hasn't really needed any pain meds other than an occasional tylenol or IBU profin. He's doing well, but is just wondering how he's going to go back to work because he can't necessarily drive his scooter or the car and with him working 10 hours and not getting home until around 2 am it would be impossible for me to pick him up since Tali would be asleep. I guess we will figure it out somehow.

For those of you who don't know, I LOVE zucchini bread, but I've always been afraid to make it for fear I'd mess it up. The other day, I took my first try at it. It turned out really good! We used a fresh zucchini from our garden (have I mentioned how fabulous it is having fresh produce? LOVE IT!). It was awesome. I made it because I was in charge of the snack for Family Home Evening. We also decided to share some with our neighbor. I also took my first shot at making pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. They were DELICIOUS! I didn't take a picture though because we ate them too fast! :D

I took this picture last night of some of the produce I picked yesterday and earlier this week. Although, I have to thank Ma and Pappy for letting me pick their yellow (spaghetti squash, I think) from their garden. It was really cool!

My baby is getting so big! Yesterday, I took her to nursery for the first time. It was kind of sad. I thought parents were exaggerating when they say it was so hard for them to see their baby off on their first day of school. Yes I realize this is a little different mainly because it's only for an hour or two. Talitha did so good! In fact, she ran and just took off into the nursery room and started playing with some of the older kids. She didn't even look back so see if Mommy and Daddy were still there. She didn't cry or anything! I was glad to know that she did so well though.

Saturday, Brian and I saw this pretty cool telescope. Brian had been telling me for years that he would really like one. Since he'd been working a lot of overtime at work, I thought he deserved something to show for all his hard work. So, I asked him what he thought about it and now he has a new "toy."

He was really loving it! He was so excited to get it all put together and take it outside to check out the stars, constellations, etc.

I even joined in on the fun. I had such a fun time stargazing with my hubby. I LOVE the fact that we can have so much fun doing stuff like this and that we share the same interests.

Good times!

Today was not only pretty descent weather for the most part, but it was also filled with a lot of fun and relaxing activities.

First off, I picked my very first peppers from the garden.....two to be exact! Oooooh how I LOVE fresh produce! We then went to a BBQ with some people from our ward. It was fun, but a little windy and chilly. Tali didn't seem to mind though. She made some new friends.

Brian and I then decided to take a walk at Gardner Village. We went into this fudge shop where they had a HUGE variety of yummy fudge. While we were there, I saw some razzles. I had never tried them before so we decided to buy them (mainly for the fact that ever since I saw 13 Going on 30 I wanted to try them). It was kind of interesting. They were pretty good, but the gum would lose its flavor fast.

We then took a couple family pictures. I realized though that we were all practically wearing the same outfits we wore for one of our luaus. These are not our favorite or only outfits we own. I promise! It was totally unintentional.

I just love my sweet little family! It was the perfect ending to a nice relaxing day!

Brian had a little lamb

Yesterday for dinner, Brian made his first attempt at making a lamb roast. He was pretty excited! He even used fresh garlic and rosemary from our garden.

It was actually pretty good. It kind of reminded me of a beef roast. There wasn't really much difference in taste other than a little bit of an aftertaste. It also wasn't as "stringy" (how Brian puts it) as beef. It was my first time trying it and I wasn't sure what to expect or if I'd even like it, but it turned out to be pretty good. Brian did a really good job.
