Yesterday was just really awkward for me. First of all, I had to teach in Sharing Time in Primary. I apparently thought I would go over on time but ended up with 15 minutes extra! SOOOO embarassing! To make matters worse, the Stake Primary Leaders were there! I was so incredibly nervous! I wanted to crawl underneath one of the big rocks that were brought for my lesson and hide until it was over. I actually felt like I was so humiliated that I was having an out of body experience. I was looking down at myself just laughing at myself. I don't even really remember everything a was rambling about. I was told I did a really good job, but come on. I really think they were just being nice.
After my humiliating experience at church it didn't end when I went visiting teaching. My companion couldn't go with me because of other obligations, so I was pretty much flying solo. It was my first time visiting this person at her house since I received a new VT list. I know this sounds so dorky and a little ridiculous, but have you ever been around someone or a group of people and felt totally out of your element? Yeah that was me. Brian says I have social anxiety. Now, I'm kind of thinking maybe he was right. The whole time I was visit teaching this person, I was really nervous. I couldn't think of anything to say and kept rambling, repeating myself. At times I was wishing I could either hide or just hit myself up side the head and tell myself when to shut up. Oddly enough this person is also one of my visiting teachers. She's an awesome person and everything, but for some reason I get really intimidated talking to certain people. I like to think of myself as a pretty social person, but for some reason I get really nervous around people.
I really am trying to get out and do more things with other people. I would really like Tali to be able to hang out with kids her age too. Which reminds me, I am hosting a Mommy & Me play group at my house on July 16th at 10:00 am if any of you mom's are interested in getting together while letting your kids play with other kids. If you're interested, just let me know.
