Homemade Christmas

This year, Brian and I had decided to do a homemade Christmas for each other and most of our family. I think it actually turned out to be one of the best Christmases as far as gift giving goes.
The morning started out with Talitha waking me up at 5 am to eat and then I went to wake up Brian at around 8 am. We then read the Nativity story out of the Bible in Luke 2. After that we opened up the stockings. These were Brian's stocking gifts along with his usual candy. Jason Mraz sings a song called Lucky with one of our favorite singers (Colbie Calliat). We heard it at a friend's wedding reception and have loved it ever since. The Brittney Spears cd was actually a gag gift. Santa gave me the new Taylor Swift and David Cook cd's. They are TOTALLY awesome!

Brian and Talitha had made me some really pretty jewelry (3 neclaces and 2 sets of earrings). It was pretty awesome! Here are two out of the three pieces.

Talitha and I had made him this LOVELY apron that reads "Chef Boy R Daddy" and we had put Talitha's hand and footprint on it as well.

I had made Brian this oh so manly scarf and beanie hat. He obviously had to model it. What a goofball!

Talitha's gifts obviously were not homemade. I think we may have our own little Mozart in training. She absolutely LOVES this toy. Thanks to my sister for giving it to her. As you can tell, she was a little more interested in trying to eat the wrapping paper than the actual toy.

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I know we did. We hope to have an even better new year.

7 Months Old

Yes, it's true. I have been on this earth for 7 months already! Some things I like doing are dancing with Mommy and Daddy, having a contest with Mommy on who can scream the highest and loudest, playing ball with Daddy, splashing in the bathtub, eating new foods, and playing with anything Mommy will let me get my hands on.

We've been busy making Christmas presents for each other. I even got to help Mommy make Daddy's gift. It was a lot of fun. I can't wait to give Daddy my gift! Daddy helped me make very own ornament for the Christmas tree. It even has my name on it. He put my hand in this clay thing which was really weird.
So far.....
Life is good!

Santa Baby

Brian and I took Talitha to see Old St. Nick on Friday. She did really good at first. She wasn't crying or anything so I thought she just might not have a problem with "Jolly Old St. Nick....
That's where I went wrong:

And then it started.
She did only cry a little bit but, in her defense, I thought this one was a little weird and wasn't really all that "jolly."

So she may not particularly like the man in red, but she sure does love the "Santa Baby" song.....or maybe its just the dressed up talking bear. Either way, she was having a good time jammin' out! If the video doesn't come up right away, just be patient. It's a big file, but it will come up.

'Tis the season to be busy!

Last week Brian and I had gone on a double date with some friends to go see the Forgotten Carols. It was Brian's first time seeing it. He actually liked it. Although the end kind of felt like a fireside. Our friend Vanessa jokingly leaned over to me and asked if I was going to be saying the closing prayer and I said "no, Brian already volunteered." It was pretty cool though. This may sound cheesy, but I felt a little more Christmas spirit during the show. It was nice to catch up with our friends. We rarely get to spend time with friends mainly due to Brian's work schedule.

I was also able to spend some time with my good friend Lynette and her three kids. They just adored Talitha. They kept her quite entertained. She had a ball!

Marian just loved to give Tali hugs and kisses. I thought it was really sweet!

This year for Christmas, Brian and I decided to have a homemade Christmas. One of my projects was doing beanies. My friend Catherine came over to teach me how to make them. She made this one for Talitha that I thought was so incredibly cute!
They were surprisingly easy to make. I'm really excited for Christmas this year because I've put more thought into the gifts I'm giving which for me, is more sentimental....and it forces me to be creative. I also get to learn new skills which is exciting!
I LOVE Christmas!

Ball On

We came across a new development that Talitha has made. She can play ball!

I'm just being one of those proud parents

.
Here is a picture of Amy & Tali in their "Christmas" jammies.

We decided to have Tali try some sweet peas to see if maybe she might like them better than the ones we tried to give her before. AHHHH! SUCCESS!!!!

Happy Birthday!

Today is Brian's birthday. So here is a shout out to my wonderful, hot, funny, hot, intelligent, hot, handy....umm.... did I say hot?......hubby. I love you babe! HAPPY BIRTHDAY from us all! MWAH! (That's my kissy noise) :P

29 NEVER LOOKED SOOOO GOOD!

FRIENDS!!!

Today some friends of ours came to visit. It was so much fun. Tali flirted...again with my friend's son while we discussed their recent accomplishments and milestones as well as reminiscing our embarrassing Jr. high school days. I was also informed that I have a "blogger stalker." Hahaha! It was so much fun! I am really grateful that I got the chance to visit with them. They are such amazing people! I just love them! Tali made a new friend. Here are some of the pictures from their visit.

What a couple of sweet kids!

Friends don't let friends pick their own nose! HAHAHA! No, I'm just kidding. My daughter is not picking his nose! I have to admit though, when I saw this picture it did crack me up. Hahaha!

Baby's busy first Thanksgiving

This year, I am grateful for many things but I am particularly grateful for my husband and daughter. I love them so much!

Another thing I am grateful for is family......

This year is obviously Tali's first Thanksgiving. Let me tell you, it was SUPER busy! The day began with us going to my mother's for Thanksgiving breakfast. She had her house decorated so cute with Christmas decor galore! I thought it would be perfect for some really cute pictures of Tali. Isn't she a doll?

These are some of the pictures we took of her at my mother's house.

She's so photogenic! I just loved it!

We then traveled south to visit with some of my relatives on my dad's side that are super cool! This picture is of us with our babies that were all born I believe within about a year of each other.

This is another cool cousin of mine with her hubby. She is such a SWEETHEART. I love her to pieces!

As you can tell, my family is very animated.

This is a picture of us with one of my favorite aunts on my dad's side of the family and her hubby.

We ended the night by going to Brian's aunt and uncle's house on his mother's side for dessert! Mmmmm! We had so much fun! They are some awesome people! Although one of his cousins and I were a little outnumbered on our reviews of Twilight. Tali was just working her charm with everyone in the room. She always had to have all of the attention on her. Everyone just loved her.

I just wanted to thank everyone who slaved away in their kitchen's this Thanksgiving for us. While the day was fun, Brian and I vowed we will NEVER be that busy for a holiday EVER AGAIN! We've been married for three years, but we are still trying to decide how to work the whole holiday schedule. What do you do for the holidays to keep it as less hectic as possible?

News & Twilight Review

Last night before I left for the Twilight premiere, I had set Tali down on the floor to play and she actually supported herself on her hands and knees for a while. It was awesome!!! I was so proud of her. My little baby's gonna be crawling soon!
She's growing up so fast! :(

I had gone to see Twilight last night with some friends from my ward. It was so much fun! I had a blast. We had first gone to Leatherby's for icecream.....mmmm. It was SO good!

This is a picture of some of the people we went with. They were so freakin' hilarious! They were so much fun! Thanks Betsy for the tickets. I had a blast!

Here is our totally awesome group! The picture is a little blurry, but that's okay. I thought the movie totally tanked. It was so freakin' cheesy mixed with really bad acting. We did keep the night interesting by going potty in the boys bathroom due to the SUPER long lines to the women's bathroom.....don't worry. It was empty when we went in. When I came out though there were two guys that came in as I was leaving. Can we say awkward?!? Then as we were waiting in my friend's van to leave, we noticed that this guy behind us was picking pimples. They told me I should take a picture, but when I went to take one, he stopped. That guy will forever be known to us as the "pimple picker." It was hilarious! Gross, but hilarious!

My baby ate and LIKED sweet potatoes! SUCCESS!!! Today, Brian and I pureed some butternut squash and sweet potatoes for our precious girl. She totally LOVED it! I am such a proud momma!

Date Night

I went to my first country concert! By the way it was totally awesome! I have to apologize for the lack of photos, the universe was against us on that. Or... someone forgot to recharge the batteries, and put the memory card in the camera. I blame the universe.
They put a walkway down the middle of the of the audience. We ended up being only thirty feet away from Carrie Underwood. That's so close we didn't need the jumbo screen to see. Amy almost got Carrie's attention to get me on stage when she was looking for male volunteers. Holy Cow! I don't know the words to any of her songs; my heart almost lept out of my throat. Lucky it didn't work. I'll have to get her back for that one.
Amy's so awesome. We were on our feet the whole time dancing and singing out at the top of our lungs. She did better than me... knowing the words and all; it was a blast. At the end of the concert they shot confetti out of cannons at the audience. Next time I'll have to get pictures. Amy did catch a piece of confetti as a souvenir and we still have the tickets.

6 Months- New Food & Photos

Six months old! It's time to expand my horizons with food! WhooHoo! My daddy had pureed some peas for me to eat. Today was my first time trying them......I don't think I like them very much. I really hope my mommy doesn't make me try to eat them again. This is a picture my mommy took of my first bite of peas.....YUCK! They made me gag!

My mommy for some reason likes to take pictures of me each month. I just try to smile and look pretty.....what am I talking about? I always look pretty!

Awww! What's not to love?
Look into my eyes.....you are falling in love with me!
Hehehe!

You love me! You REALLY love me!
Gotcha!

Six months and I've still got it!

Family Fun

Today we decided to take some family photos since it was such a nice day. I just wanted to share some of these family photos with everyone.

I liked this photo even though Tali was trying to sneak off. Man, is my husband HOT or what?!?

Awww! Our precious little princess. Check out that smile! She is such a sweet baby! We love her so much!

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and daughter.

Tali was trying to fishhook Daddy and then saw me and tried to look innocent. Hahaha! These pictures cracked me up!

Here she is wrestling with Daddy. I think she won. What a good daddy!
