My quest for pants

Lately, I have been having the hardest time finding things.  Shocking, I know.  My latest item that seemed almost non-existent were some inexpensive maternity pants.  Holy Hannah are those things not only hard to find but ridiculously expensive!  In fact, I had gone to Walmart, Shopko, Target, Ross and TJ Maxx who didn't even have a maternity section (or at least not much of one).

I went to Old Navy and noticed the pants that I sort of liked would (no joke) have cost me $70 or $80 for only two pairs.  Seriously?  Call me cheap, but I think that is just way too expensive to pay for pants I'll only wear a couple months.

I know this may sound ridiculous, but for some reason I was a little squeamish to buy used maternity pants.  Not that there's anything wrong with it, I just was a little weirded out by it.  I don't even really know why either.  After probably the fifth store we went to on Saturday, I finally broke down and had Brian take me to the DI.  To my surprise I found three pairs of maternity pants in excellent condition!  One of the pants still had Old Navy tags on them.  The best part was, I got three pairs for only $6 each!  I couldn't even find one pair of maternity pants for $18, let alone three!  I was so ecstatic!  I'm thinking I may have to go back and try and find some more maternity clothes.  Thank heavens for the DI!  Oh yeah and the best part was after we finished shopping, my wonderful hubby was sweet enough to buy me a super yummy strawberry banana shake!  Mmmm!
What a great day!

Good with the bad

Yesterday morning started off as a pretty rough day.  The night before last, Tali was up until 4am.  No joke.  The problem was she was just throwing a fit for some reason.  We would put her down for bed and she would be fine for a few minutes then start freaking out again.  She wasn't tugging on her ear or running a temperature or anything.  She was just getting really stiff.  We figured she probably had gas since she kept tooting, so we gave her some gas medicine and she seemed fine.....then it started all over again.  So needless to say we didn't get much sleep.  I was so afraid I would be so on edge and just lose it with my daughter that it scared me to be alone with her.  Mainly because I was so irritably from being so sleep deprived.  Luckily, things got better as the day went on.

Yesterday morning I was checking email and facebook when I realized what day it was.  Eight years ago yesterday, my favorite uncle had passed away of pancreatic cancer.  He was such a wonderful man and always made you feel like you were the most important person when he was talking to you.  I don't know where I would be if I didn't have him to help me through my adolescence.  He was always there for me whenever I needed him.  He would take me on "daddy/daughter dates even though it was never his responsibility to take on that roll for me.  He was so loving and gentle.  I never heard him say a bad thing about anyone.  He also had an amazing sense of humor.

As I was reminiscing the times I shared with him, I couldn't hold back the tears because I missed him so much.  I almost felt a little embarrassed crying in front of my daughter.  Dumb, I know.  Even though I was having a rough morning, I also had a few reasons to smile.  As I was having my little moment, my sweet daughter came over to me, wrapped her arms around me and started patting and rubbing my back.  It was at that moment I felt the same kind of love my uncle had always shown me.  From that moment on my day turned around completely.  The sun was shining and even some of the flowers in my yard had started to bloom!  All in all it turned out to be a pretty good day.

Lucky Day!

First of all, it's a fantabulous day because our yellow narcissus (mini daffodils) and purple irises are starting to bloom!  I LOVE seeing the beautiful colors of my flowers!  I had a feeling that even though it's dark outside, it was going to be a good day.

Earlier today I was ranting and raving in my previous post about how stupid the Nintendo company is for not making more Nintendo Wii Fit Plus and shipping them to other companies when there is such a high demand for them.

I had to go to Walmart to pick up a few things.  While I was there, I got the impression to go to the electronics section to see if they had a Wii Fit Plus in stock.  I was in luck!  There were only a few left!  I thought "WHOO HOO!  This is my lucky day!"  As I was waiting behind a few people in line to get help, I was getting a little nervous.  I thought "oh great.  These people are all waiting to get a Wii Fit Plus and I won't be able to get one....again."  Luckily, that wasn't the case.  I now have my Wii Fit Plus!  WHOO HOO!!!!

I had also been needing to go to Barnes and Noble to pick up our book for book group tomorrow night.  I had borrowed a copy from a friend in my ward, but figured I probably wouldn't get it read by tomorrow but liked what I read so far so I went to buy it.  It's called Hidden Places by Lynn Austin just in case you were curious.  Anyway, when I approached the woman at the desk, she told me to hold on a second so she could see if there were anymore back there.  I was really sweating it now.  She came back holding up the book asking if that was right book.  I was thrilled to see they had one left!

What a great day this turned out to be!

Wii Woes

Lately I have been recording these fitness programs on TV so I could do them at a time that was more convenient for me....you know, like when I'm awake (they come on pretty early in the morning).  The only problem is they do a lot of floor and other exercises that I can't do.  So I decided to ask Brian for a Nintendo Wii and the Wii Fit w/balance board because his parents have one and we really enjoy it.  Not to mention it helps us work up a pretty good sweat believe it or not.  Brian had told me that we could look into buying one.

We finally bought the Nintendo Wii recently.  The only problem was when I went to buy the Wii, the Wii Fit was no where to be found.  I had called several other retailers (I even looked online) looking for this pesky Wii Fit w/balance board with no luck.  The retail stores all told me the same story.  They were completely sold out.  Apparently, they only get about 4 or so in each shipment and they sell out within a few hours or minutes.  They didn't even know when their next shipments would be in.  Are you kidding me?

Here's an interesting question for Nintendo.  If there is still such a huge demand for these little buggers, why the heck aren't they getting with the program and shipping out more product so they could continue making more money???  DUH!  I can't even buy it online anywhere (even the Nintendo store unless I want to pay a ridiculous price for it).  People are selling the Wii Fit w/balance board for double the price you can get it at retail stores....if they actually had it in stock.  The best part is, we've been getting ads from places such as Walmart and Toys R Us that advertise "Nintendo Wii Fit w/balance board for just $99!"  They don't even have any in stock!  Why would they place an add for a product they don't even have to sell?!?  How ridiculous is that?

I know it sounds stupid to get so irritated over something like this, but the whole reason we bought the Nintendo Wii was so we could buy the Nintendo Wii Fit w/balance board!  Grrrrr!

It's a.....

Today was the big day.  I went in for my ultrasound.  It was so amazing!  The funny thing is when we saw the face I thought to myself "Awww.  There's my little man."  I then realized that it could still be a girl.  As they were checking to make sure the heart and the brain were functioning properly, I was amazed at how incredible it is to be able to see a life growing and functioning the way it should.  I was so incredibly grateful to see everything working properly.

Then came time to find out what we were having.  I was so nervous.  I didn't even know why.  My heart was pounding to find out what it was.  I was certain it was a boy, but knew there was always the possibility of being wrong.  I know.  Me?  Wrong?  No way!  Just kidding.

Surprisingly, this baby was quite cooperative.  It was NOT shy about anything.  So, I guess I've dragged this on long enough.  Drum roll please!  We are having....a....baby....
BOY!

Brian and I are completely thrilled!  It will be nice for Brian because now he won't be outnumbered.  :)
We don't have a specific baby boy name picked out, but we would like a less common/unique name with Brian as the middle name.  If you have any ideas I would LOVE to hear them!

In other news, both Brian and I felt our little man move for the first time today!  What an amazing day!  Our little man is definitely making his presence known.  I LOVE IT!

Bonnets, Massages & Nesting

Yesterday, Tali was playing in her room while I was doing some laundry. I have to say she is a very funny creative little girl. She was playing in her room and this is what she looked like when she came out to see me.
It looks like she turned her little baby doll carrier into a little bonnet. I love this little girl so much! She cracks me up! I got a really good laugh. She makes me so happy. Here are some other photos I took of her.

In this picture she was actually posing.

I have no idea what she was doing in this picture, she's still super cute though.

The other day, Brian was giving Tali a shoulder "massage." Now everytime I sit down on the floor she'll come up behind me and start trying to massage my shoulders. Brian taught her very well! Sometimes though she'll just stand in front of us and turn her back toward us and hint for us to give her a massage. It's quite hilarious!

For some reason, I've been going through these days where I will clean practically everything. I swear I'm nesting eventhough I'm nowhere near my due date. Is that even possible?

Last week, I cleaned my front room as well as the bathrooms, did laundry (like I do every week), cleaned the kitchen, and then I ended up cleaning all the floors on my hands and knees. Not to mention I also cleaned up our front yard and got rid of all the weeds and dead stuff. It looks TONS better!

Today, I ended up vacuuming practically my entire house, cleaned between the cushions of my couches, cleaned some of the baby furniture and toys we have, did the dishes, cleaned up the kitchen and finished up the laundry.

While I was vacuuming, I had to empty the filter after every room because the carpets were not as clean as I thought they were. I guess our previous vacuum really didn't do much considering everything I vacuumed up today. It may not seem like I did very much but it's a heck of a lot more than I normally do. I usually try to space it out throughout the week so I have something to do everyday. So for the most part I try to take it pretty easy. Well I guess the good news is when it gets closer to having the baby, I won't have to worry about things being dirty. Ahhh! It's so nice to have a nice clean house! Now I can relax for a little while.

4 Months pregnant

So I am officially 4 months pregnant. I decided I would take photos each month from now on and post them. So here are some pictures of my 4th month of pregnancy.

Me and my sweet princess

She'll make such a good sister. She keeps feeling my belly and when I ask her where the baby is, she kiss my belly. So cute!

Our little family is getting bigger.....and so is my belly.

This was the only way we could actually get Tali to smile after a few photos. She was getting tired, so we decided this was the last photo. I thought it turned out kind of cute.

Great day!

Yesterday was such a fantastic day! The weather wasn't as cold, so I was able to do some yard work! It was awesome! I kept telling Brian that I wanted to mow the lawn eventhough it wouldn't really do anything. Yes, I am getting antsy.

Yesterday while Tali was napping Brian and I worked in the yard before he had to leave for work. It was so fun to do yard work with him. We saw more of our tulips popping up out of the ground.

After Brian left, I continued working in the yard just raking up all the dead stuff. I mainly just wanted to clean it up without over doing it. It doesn't look fantastic, but it looks much better than it did. As I was raking up other areas of the front yard I found that we still have some beets, onions and garlic that are growing from last year. I thought it was kind of cool eventhough they probably won't be any good. Along with that I also found even MORE flowers popping up out of the ground! I believe they were crocus, narcissus, and some iris. I am just thrilled to see them growing!

I am getting so excited to start planting things in the yard! We've got a garden kickoff coming up in one of our ward activities that I'm also getting pretty excited for! I just love seeing plants grow. It makes me so happy!

First Haircut

Yesterday, Brian and I took Tali to get her very first hair cut....well mainly just a trim by a this woman Becky who I had cut my hair for years. Becky did really well with Tali. I was very impressed. I'm just a little sad though because Becky is no longer going to be cutting hair which means we are going to have to find a new hairstylist. :(
Tali didn't think too much of her first experience with getting her hair cut.

I know from this photo she looks okay, but really she's screaming and crying for us to pick her up.
Doesn't Brian look oh so manly in a cow apron cover thing? Tali was not too happy about the haircut, but I couldn't help but laugh at her overreaction from the haircut. I had no idea a haircut could be such an ordeal.

Here is Tali all done with her haircut.

Soon!

Today, I had my OB appointment. I was able to hear the heart beat for the first time! It was so cool to hear it! I did think that it sounded a little slower, at least from what I remember from hearing Tali's heart beat but who knows.

I was told at the appointment today that we might be able to find out the gender of our baby this month! WHOO HOO! I had called and scheduled the ultrasound for the 20th. We had to schedule it for a Saturday so Brian could be there with me. I can't believe we get to find out what we're having in two and a half weeks! We are so excited! I personally think we are having a boy, but we already have a girl name picked out just in case. Boy names are a little more difficult. We want a unique name that isn't popular or common. If any of you have any suggestions, please let us know. We would love to hear any suggestions you might have. I CANNOT WAIT!!!

Jealous bone

This morning Tali saw Brian and I hugging and she just gave him this look like "what do you think you're doing?" She then came in between us and started pushing me away. I then went to hold Brian's hand and she got irritated that I was even touching him much less that I was anywhere near him. I think she may have a bit of a jealous bone. She is such a daddy's girl. I'm glad she loves her daddy, but what the heck? What am I chop liver? I take care of her all day. I have to admit though watching them play together does bring a smile to my face.

She is a really sweet girl despite the fact that she doesn't like it when Brian or I show affection toward each other. I just hope she doesn't act like that when the baby comes. Of course then again she really does love babies.

Public

So as you know, I had my blog private for a little while for personal reasons, but I have heard from some people that they didn't like having to sign in all the time or they didn't want to get a google account. So, I figured we would once again make our blog public.
