Eight is GREAT!

Today I am eight months old! Can you believe it? I'm really learning a lot! I have already started to clap my hands, tried to snap my fingers, said "momma" and give my mommy kisses.
.

Daddy even gets in on the fun. The other day Mommy took this picture of Daddy playing the piano and trying to teach me.

I wasn't paying much attention because I was creating my very own masterpiece!

Today, I decided it was time to start using my superpowers of persuasion and have Mommy and Daddy take me out for my eight month birthday......to my great surprise it actually worked!
Wow sometimes I even amaze myself!

Here are a couple of photos my Mommy took of me to show how big I'm getting. Mommy and Daddy are excited to see what kinds of things I will be doing by next month.

Goodbye old friend!!!!!

So as I'm sure some of you mom's can relate that after you have a baby, your body just goes down hill. DANG GRAVITY! I decided that since I'm finding flab where muscle had once resided, I was going to get my body back!

Today, I had decided it was time to get a gym membership. So I had gone down to our local gym and bought one. BYE BYE FLABBY ME! I am not doing it so much to lose weight, but my main goal is to just be healthy and toned. I noticed I have been losing weight but at the same time becoming less flexible and more "squishy." I'm really hoping to be able to just feel better about myself. I do have to admit I was quite flattered though when some punk kid was whistling at me (with Tali no less) as I was going into the gym to get my pass thinking I was hot stuff. DUH! I HAD A BABY WITH ME! WHAT AN IDIOT!

So as I say goodbye to my squishy self, I welcome the healthy me to take over. So bubye my oh so yummy and delicious ding dongs and cupcakes. I am turning to fruits and vegetables as my new "comfort food."

I have to admit, I'm getting really excited to work on the few goals that I have made to enrich my life. Hopefully I can stick with it.

GO ME!

Baby "Momma"

Our little angel is growing up so incredibly fast! Today I had gone over to visit my mother and just hang out. We had some yummy pizza and brownies. They totally hit the spot. While I was there, Tali of course was moving all over. Her favorite spot tends to be under the coffee table. She was all smiles. She was just jabbering away! Then what happened next was totally unexpected and so exciting! SHE SAID HER FIRST WORD!!!! She said "momma" in between some of her gibberish. I was ELATED! She does love me! It really made me feel so good. It amazes me how much she's learning!

Next thing I know she's going to be crawling and walking. Almost time to start baby proofing.

Body Worlds 3

Today, Brian and I had the opportunity to go see the Body Worlds 3 exhibit. For those of you who haven't heard about it, it is a kind of art exhibit that shows the body without the skin but also other health related info that was just so incredible! It was so amazing! It took us about 2-3 hours and we didn't even get to listen or read all of the info.

One thing Brian and I noticed was that there were a lot of lungs that looked like smoker's lungs or lungs affected by secondhand smoking. They even had a smoker's leg or foot that was really gross looking. It was so NASTY! Even though it was nasty, I found it so interesting. It made me really appreciate the human body, how it functions and everything. It also made me want to come home and start a rigorous workout routine. They showed a lot of things that we were just so interested in and to list them all would be ridiculously long. I do have to say though that it was ridiculously expensive, but a good experience.

News, New Year's & Resolutions

Yesterday I had set Talitha in her crib so I could sort her laundry and when I turned around to check on her, I founder like this.

Our little girl is growing up so fast! She had pulled herself up in her crib. My how time flies! I remember bringing her home from the hospital which just seems like it was yesterday.
Then, today as Brian and I were playing with her, I noticed that she was trying to snap her fingers! No I am not kidding. She was moving her "birdie" finger and her thumb in a snap-like motion. I could not believe it! I'm still in shock. Yesterday, Brian had taken this video of Tali playing the piano....what a natural! I thought it was cute.

Our New Year's Eve we had spent with some of our good friends. We ate a lot of fudge, chips and apple beer (yes, it's non-alcoholic. We wouldn't drink it otherwise. It actually tastes like sparkling cider) and played some really fun games. One game we played was Battle of the Sexes and I am proud to say the women won! Woo hoo! Here are a few of the photos our little party.

Here we are getting ready to go outside for fireworks. Surprisingly, Talitha didn't freak out like I thought she would. I kind of think she liked them.

I think Tali found a new friend.

Awww. She loves her Momma!

I thought this picture was too cute! Tali really loves her Daddy.

With the New Year as most of us do, we have made a few of our own resolutions. Brian and I are going to go together to the temple at least once a month, we are working on our family prayer and scripture study, and like everyone else we are both going to work on being healthier and exercising more. I also am going to spend more time practicing on the piano as apposed to watching tv.
